The Big Book Reference Manual defines the most common words, phrases, and concepts contained in “Alcoholics Anonymous, The Story of How Many Thousands of Men and Women Have Recovered from Alcoholism,” affectionately nicknamed “the Big Book” although it is not actually very big. This manual also lists synonyms, pages numbers and the complete sentences with the topical phrases in bold type. The words and phrases are taken from pages ix through 164 and the appendices. Sometimes there is a quote relating to the word or phrase, sometime not.
How to use this book: Use this book as a guide to deepen the roots of your recovery. Oft times we read through material swiftly, seeking just the gist and planting our understanding in the shallow topsoil. I have found, and hundreds of other members of A.A. also, that to create a deeply rooted base for recovery we needed a deeper understanding of the terms and concepts- a stronger foundation upon which to build our newly found, serene lives.
May peace within sobriety be forever within your dreams. And if you find some share it with everyone.
